EKC – Student Block

Project Summary

Transformation of the East Kent College carpentry workshop to provide a Student Zone with an edgy feel. To maximise the potential of the booths and upgrade the whole area including Electrics, lighting,provide an Alfresco area, various zones within the booths, provide an area that can be developed for Students to provide an in house Radio station.

The wishlist was endless ! However, showing the Students options that met the budget allowed them to prioritise and get the best out of the space allowed.

This project was designed by Rap Interiors after working with the Students. The project became known as the Student Block and then was named The Basement by the Students. This project was completed within 6 weeks.

Rap Interiors listened hard and through a series of designs they showed how elements of the wish list created a different feel to the space. East Kent College strives to provide dynamic areas where students thrive and it is as important for them to feel they have their own breakout zones. We are delighted with the finished result, on time and within budget.”
