Prep World contacted Rap’s office interior designers to transform their existing space into a functional office for 20 employees. This included the creation of an open plan workspace, breakout area and meeting room.
The first phase of the fit out works entailed stripping out many of the building’s existing elements. Rap then cladded the structure’s walls to increase its mechanical strength; installed a suspended ceiling, eco-friendly LED lights, air conditioning and new electricals; and redecorated the space throughout.
For the open plan workspace, Rap’s office interior designers suggested a modern, minimalist aesthetic. This included shared desks with privacy screens and accompanying mesh back chairs; a striking yet congruent orange, white and grey a colour scheme; and decorative images displaying different kinds of fruit.
For the breakout area, which originally consisted of a small tea point, Rap extended the area to make it more hospitable for staff. Among the new features: a breakfast bar with comfortable padded stools; a storage unit with an integrated fridge and microwave; a wipeable laminated splashback for hygiene purposes; vinyl flooring; and a poseur table for ad-hoc meetings.
Lastly, Rap created a new glass fronted meeting room by installing new partitions. Internally, Rap introduced a large meeting desk, mesh back chairs and storage solutions; implemented power and data to enable the use of a presentation screen; and printed dotted manifestation on the glass to avoid casualties.
Following the works by Rap Interiors, Prep World now has a functional and vibrant open plan office workplace. With a new working area, meeting room and breakout area, both employee engagement and productivity will increase, helping the company to build on its success in the fruit supply industry.
