About the Client

Started in the year 2000, Sun Valley Rice produces high-quality, specialised rice varieties. The company grows its rice in California and is owned by father and son Mike and Ken LeGrande. From drying to packaging, Sun Valley Rice prides itself on producing quality products and adapting to an ever-changing industry.

Project Summary

Sun Valley Rice contacted Rap Interiors to create a new interior design scheme for its UK office in Guildford, Surrey. The brief was to create a vibrant open plan space that reflected the company identity. Furthermore, Sun Valley wanted the space to have a warm, homely feel with catering facilities so they could offer new clients rice tastings.

The project began with 3D design renders to help the client visualise the space. Within the proposed design, Rap’s office interior designers included an open plan workspace, a kitchen/dining area, new flooring and decorations throughout.

Through working with an experienced fit out contractor in Rap Interiors, Sun Valley Rice now has a sleek and modern space suitable for employees and visitors. The works, completed in four weeks, will undoubtedly help Sun Valley Rice to establish its brand in the UK.

Dining Area

For the dining area design, Rap Interiors introduced a kitchen to enable Sun Valley to prep rice for customers. A key feature of this area was the breakfast bar, which instilled the warm, homely feel that the client was looking to achieve. Additionally, we introduced wipeable dining furniture and a Sun Valley Rice glass murals to create a brand experience.

Boardroom

As Sun Valley’s branding is yellow, green and grey, our office designers used that colour scheme for the carpet design, and this was also dispersed into the main workspace. Other key features of the boardroom include a desk with integrated power for laptop use and decorative rice jars to further instil the brand identity.

Waiting Area

With many new clients visiting the space, it was important to the client that the space made a good first impression. Therefore, our designers created a waiting area with a comfortable corner sofa, which, like the carpet, sported the company’s brand colours. Furthermore, we installed a feature wall made from reclaimed pallet wood to add aesthetic interest to the area.
