Rap Interiors has always been committed to inspiring young people and working with schools. Recently, Rap Design Director Julie Anderson spent a day helping with Year 11 student interviews at Maplesden Noakes School.

We received this fantastic feedback from Emma Mills, Careers Officer at Maplesden Noakes:

“The feedback from the students has been phenomenal. The teachers and staff were commenting on their excitement and how proud they were after attending the interviews. Many of the students are now looking for Saturday and weekend jobs and are now finding the confidence to approach employers.I really hope you got as much out of the day as they did; we are so appreciative as a school to have so much support and are incredibly lucky. I have to say a special thank you to Harry from Berry Recruitment and Marie and her team from DWP who helped run the workshops and sessions for the students the day before.  The feedback on your workshops and talks has been glowing and many students have commented on how much they learned from the preparation day.”

Maplesden Noakes has also hosted its first ever dementia café with year 10 pupils serving tea and cake to visitors. Pupils chatted with the elderly over cakes baked at the school while performing arts students played songs in the background.

Julie Anderson will be sponsoring the café for the future. With Rap’s sponsorship the tea party will take place once a month rather than every quarter as it is currently. Intergenerational work is so valuable as it focuses on building positive relationships with people in the community.

Chris Sparham, Rap Interiors Marketing Manager, attended a Christmas party at the café on 17th December. He joined a number of care home residents to enjoy tea, coffee, snacks and fantastic entertainment from the Maplesden Noakes students.
