We are delighted to announce that Rap Interiors were awards winners at the National Federation of Builders 2015 in London in May. Winning “Refurbishment of the Year” and “Most Commended for Client of the Year”.The National Federation of Builders held its annual awards luncheon in London on Friday 22nd May in association with NHBC, to celebrate outstanding contributions made to the built environment in 2014. The awards event was hosted by former England British Lions hooker, Brian Moore.
We were delighted to be joined by our nominated clients Family Mosaic – Housing association providers working throughout the UK and Liberty Property Trust, who we regularly deliver refurbishment works for in Kings Hill. With categories ranging from refurbishment works to Heritage Project of the Year and New Build of the Year, there was also awards to those who achieved excellence in their commitments to Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Year.
We were delighted to firstly receive Highly Commended in the Client of the Year category with our client Family Mosaic, whom we have carried out numerous refurbishment and fit out works throughout London, Southampton and Pitsea, Essex.
Tina Alderman, Facilities Manager at Family Mosaic commented on the awards saying: “We are immensely proud of this award and I feel that it represents all the hard work that the Facilities team have done over the years in order to maintain an exceptional working relationship with Rap. It enables us to meet important deadlines and install top of the range materials, using highly skilled contractors. Ultimately resulting in excellent value for money.”
Rap Design Director, Julie Anderson was ecstatic to receive this award commenting “its an amazing feeling when your company and staff are recognised for the hard work we put into looking after our clients. Longstanding relationships is something we are committed to as we work closely with regular clients understanding their business planned growth. Family Mosaic are an excellent example of a “partnership” that works.
The NFB Judges commented on this award saying “Design work was complemented by a great working relationship between Rap and their client. Both parties worked together to streamline processes and ensure an effective collaborative partnership.”

Our second award for the Refurbishment of the Year category for our recent project at the Ashford Magistrates Court This 6 month project in Ashford, Kent consisted of a complete commercial design and re-build of the local Magistrates Court, to provide our client, CXK, with funky offices and sub-let office areas.
This project attracted media interest from the KM and also the Ashford Herald. CXK were extremely impressed with their new offices saying “Our new offices are universally like by both our staff and our visitors, it has made such a difference to the working environment creating the right professional image we want our customer and partners to have, additionally the building has enabled us to attract additional revenue to support our work. We have also gained new partnerships as an unintended but welcome outcome.”
Rap Managing Director Rick Anderson comments “this project was a fantastic transformation in Ashford and not only suited the clients working needs but was a focus for Ashford, as being one of the first to provide sub let space , with parking in the centre of the town. Despite many weather challenges which hindered the project the Design and flair Rap put into the project has been recognised by the NFB and their comments made us feel euphoric”. NFB judges said “The redesign of this space has resulted in a practical and appealing office for CXK and will facilitate the good work that they do”.

That sense of quality ran across the entire field of entries this year, making the judging particularly difficult. The NFB is proud to represent you. Finalists were selected by an expert panel of adjudicators including Joscelyne Shaw, Acting Policy and Communications Director, British Safety Council; Vassos Chrysostomou, Improvement Counsellor for the Built Environment; Martyn Price MBE, apprenticeship ambassador; John Robinson and Mike Jones, Housing and Heritage experts respectively.
