Client background

RIG Healthcare has been recruiting within the UK Healthcare sector since 2002. It is one of the largest suppliers of locum allied healthcare professionals, pharmacists and doctors to the NHS.

London fit out brief

With RIG relocating to Bromley, South London, Rap Interiors was commissioned to perform a CAT B office fit out. The brief, set out in the tender scope document provided by RE Project Partners, was to create a functional office environment with a corporate aesthetic.

Rap’s London fit out solution

The fit out works would take place across a number of spaces, including the central open plan office, kitchen/breakout area, HR room, director’s office and several meeting rooms. With the CAT A office fit out already finished, Rap Interiors set to completing the second phase of the works.

To make the office more functional, part of the CAT B fit out entailed adding power modules throughout the building. This would enable the RIG employees to access work electronically in a multitude of spaces, whether it be at their own desk or in a meeting room with colleagues.

The installation of glazed partitions was equally important to the office’s functionality. In addition to forming the shell of several rooms, the partitions would  ensure natural sunlight could enter the building.

For the office breakout area/kitchen fit out, Rap Interiors introduced a number of elements to ensure the space was both functional and hospitable. These elements included a breakfast bar, fridge freezer, double drawer dishwasher, new flooring, glass splashback, two microwaves, and a water boiler for tea and coffee.

Aesthetically, Rap Interiors introduced a several features to create the corporate look and, in turn, instil RIG’s company identity. These features included RIG’s company signage; a corporate colour scheme of grey, white and lime green; and a silhouette style glass manifestation.

Additionally, Rap re-jigged the suspended ceiling lighting to suit the new seating layout; installed new office fire alarm systems and magnetic door locks for improved security; and introduced a number of extras such as white boards, blinds and television screens.

Thank you for choosing Rap Interiors for your office fit out

RIG Healthcare now has a highly functional workspace which reflects their company identity. The fit out will help RIG improve working practices, boost productivity and continue their success in the healthcare recruitment sector. We were delighted to be chosen as fit out contractor for this tender and wish RIG all the best for the future.

A word with Gerry Melia, RE Project Partners Director

What did you hope the workplace environment would do for RIG Healthcare?

To provide a functional office environment. That’s the core of any procurement process.

Over the last few of years we’ve set a specification for all of the offices. The Bromley office is in line with the corporate spec that we have refined.

Do you feel the project will help RIG to move forward as a company?

Without a doubt. Before this RIG were located in two separate offices and they were consolidated into one. Both of those offices were poorly laid out and the general working environment was poor. I think the having the team together under one roof and the IT connectivity will benefit the operation.

Has Rap Interiors fulfilled your expectations?

Very much so. I found Parry very easy to deal with. The project was straightforward and he didn’t make a big song and dance about it. So yes, I had no problems whatsoever with Rap Interiors.

The brief for Rap Interiors was to fulfil and follow the scope document as stated and to do it within the agreed time line and an agreed cost. Rap fulfilled this brief so it was a good project that went very well.

Finally, would you recommend Rap to other businesses?

Yes I would!
