Gym Interior Design Brief

After successfully taking out a lease in the Moberly Sports Centre in Kensal Green, F45 contacted Rap Interiors to create a practical and visually arresting new workout area. As a franchise, F45 needed the space to be brand-specific, with decorative elements that were consistent with the company’s other gyms.

In addition to the branding, Rap Interiors was responsible for creating a new storage area, making upgrades to the washroom and changing areas, installing gym equipment, and carrying out general work to ensure functionality.

Our Interior Fit Out Solution

For the main workout area, we followed the brand guidelines closely and introduced a number of key elements to give it the specified F45 look. This included an eye-catching “F45 Training” wall print; an American-style blue, red and white colour scheme; and inspirational quotes reading “team training – life changing”.

To enable the F45 members to take part in classes and enjoy a good workout, we sourced and installed a variety of gym equipment. This included custom-made pull up bars, a sled track, monitors to display upcoming classes and promotional material, and durable gym matting.

Prior to laying the gym matting, we had to raise the floor level to install acoustics. This would ultimately help to reduce noise pollution created by the daily activity, which is very important given that gym is located in a residential area.

Raising the floor also meant we had to create a ramp from the gym to the changing room area – an adaptation that proved key in allowing access to the space and ensuring DDA compliance. We also made small changes to the changing rooms, such as building a new wall for greater privacy and integrating power points for hairdryers and straighteners.

Finally, we created a storage area with a low-level cabinet unit, water fountain to refill bottles and large towel stand. This will help the guests to stay hydrated and provide a place for F45 employees to store essential items, such as health and safety equipment.

The Result

With the help of Rap Interiors, F45 has now opened another stunning new gym in a prime London location. With the newly installed branding elements, bespoke gym equipment, changing areas and more, F45 has everything in place to welcome local guests and build on its success in the capital. Furthermore, the interior design is in line with the F45 brand guidelines, ensuring the space is consistent with the franchise’s other branches.
