Office Interior Design Brief – Ground Floor Breakout Area

Classic Collection chose Rap Interiors to carry out a large-scale office re-design and refurbishment across two floors.

Classic had been letting out the top floor to another company, but following the lease expiration, the luxury holiday firm decided to occupy it themselves. This would entail moving the main Classic Collection office space to the top floor, while the ground floor would become a new multi-use breakout area.

Kitchen and Chill Out Zone

To create an area for employees to enjoy some downtime and re-boot, our designers introduced an inviting chill out zone. With a remit to make it as relaxing as possible, they went for a “resimericial” (residential meets commercial design) style, with open-sided modular sofas, pouffes and coffee tables. Our project team also built a large bespoke bookcase to display travel-themed literature and decorative elements like rusticwoven baskets.

Next to the chill out zone, we created a new kitchen area in a sleek anthracite grey colour scheme. Not only does the kitchen contain the essential elements for food storage and catering, it serves a striking design feature, with a two-sided breakfast bar layout mirrored by the stunning pendant lights.

As part of the furniture selection process, our designers took Classic Collection’s decision makers to various Clerkenwell showrooms for some inspiration. The trip to Clerkenwell proved valuable, with Classic Collection falling in love with the extra-wide “Relic” collaboration table by Frovi. After selecting the Relic, our designers made it unique by introducing bespoke lighting, a driftwood effect worktop and decorative foliage.

Another key part of the office furniture suite is the banquette seating. With its coffee-shop design and integrated power points, the banquette brings both comfort and practicality to the space. Moreover, our designers specifically chose the blue colour scheme to reflect the sea, while the bespoke hanging rope feature also suggests a nautical theme.

Classic Collection also wanted to create a large area for presentations to help bring the team together. With this in mind, we introduced two large presentation screens with projectors, bespoke bleacher seating, and café-style tables and chairs.

The large bleacher seating can seat around 50 employees, making it ideal for team gatherings. It also contains moveable fabric seat pads, which are made with adhesive bottoms to prevent sliding.

The Result

Through working closely with Classic Collection’s decision makers, we were able to create a versatile new breakout space for the travel firm’s hardworking employees. With the wide selection of office furniture solutions, employees can dine and work in a relaxed way, while the presentation area will undoubtedly help to foster a team-centric culture within the company.
