About the Client

Our client is a previous client who writes insurance, reinsurance and mortgage insurance on a worldwide scale. Arch was set up in 2001 and has evolved into a leading speciality insurer and reinsurer.

Office Interior Design Brief

After designing our client’s Maidstone Office in 2019, we were consulted again to carry out the design and fit out of their new office location in St Alban’s. The new office needed to be consistent with their existing office designs to keep that overall look and so sit well with the corporate aesthetic but with a modern-industrial design.

Our Solution

In order to stay consistent with our client’s already established office interior design, the waiting area has their branded colour wall with the stainless logo, just like every other office. The desks are also the same as what is used in the other offices, while the ceiling has been updated to from grey to white to add more light into the space.

Prior to the CAT B office fit out works, the overall canvas of the design was naturally quite plain and uninspiring therefore the geometric triangle carpet incorporated some well needed pattern and colour to compliment our client’s branding and add some aesthetic interest to the space.

The design also includes an open plan workspace with a large bank to fit up to 10 employees. This is to enable the staff members moving in to sit on the same bank, fulfilling their request.

Through working closely with the client, our office interior designers created an on-brand office space while maximising the space available. Furthermore, our project team ensured the works were completed on time, within budget and with minimal disruption to the surrounding area.

Meeting Rooms

Even though the meeting rooms are not open plan, the Crittall-style doors have clear glass on the top and bottom panels and a frosted middle panel so the space still felt more open but with privacy where needed.

Breakout Area

We incorporated splashes of colour in the breakout area through the kitchen cabinetry in a matte graphite grey and the lime green chairs too. The grey and blue geometric pattern of the office carpet was followed through into the kitchen via the splashback tiles, ensuring consistency with this design feature.

Storage

Within the office, there wasn’t a huge amount of storage needed as our client are in the process of going paperless. Therefore, the storage area was minimal and built with two deeper units at either end, specifically for coat storage. The cupboards in the middle were then for general storage needs.
