Client's Brief

Label Express contacted Rap Interiors with their industrial refurbishment needs to reconfigure their large ground floor office in order to accommodate their new printing machine due to be installed in the near future.  Our client requested to divide the existing space into two to retain an office space on a smaller scale to seat up to four people, while creating a second space to house their incoming large printing machine.  Their brief also required for staff to have clear vision from the office into the warehouse and between the office and new printing machine room.

First Phase Industrial Fit Out Solution

The fit out works were completed in a two phase approach to make it possible for the new printing machine to be delivered and placed in situ. The first stage began with all old partitions being stripped out along with the existing power and data.  Our projects team erected new partitions located further into the warehouse space, extending the area to provide sufficient space to accommodate the large proportions of their new printing machine.

The internal space was divided into two rooms for which the dimensions were determined by the footprint and planned operation of the new printing machine to ensure sufficient space was provided around the machine for staff to work. In both spaces new doors and door frames were installed with a new glazed window installed into the new partition to allow visibility between the two spaces.

Office Fit Out Solution

The office fit out took place during the first phase to allow staff to occupy the office as early as possible. Our office interior designers created a new space plan to seat four members of staff.  The office fit out included new flooring, air conditioning and controllers, door phone entry, electrical trunking and redecoration throughout.  A new suspended ceiling was installed with flat panel LED lights.

Completion of internal works took place during the first phase, involving the installation of new air conditioning units and re-running three phase power to the space. The addition of new secondary glazing now aids heat retention within this room, while the freshly painted floor provides a clean, smart environment for staff to work and printing operations to run efficiently.

A suspended ceiling was installed in the extended section of the printing room, while the remaining ceiling was opened up to the soffits and sprayed for a clean, fresh finish. New baton LED lights were fitted alongside an exposed air conditioning unit and tray.

Second Phase Fit Out

The front face partition of the office and printing room, needed to be the last element of the project to be completed due to the large size of the printing machine. When delivered, the machine needed to be brought in through the warehouse and placed into the correct location through the front opening of the new room.

Once the machine was correctly located the second phase could commence to close up the two rooms with the front face partition being installed. This wall included new sliding doors providing access into the warehouse and a glazed window from the office through to the warehouse.

The surrounding floor outside the new partitions was painted, denoting a clear walkway around the spaces within the warehouse.
