Project

Maidstone Town Hall – Office design, Fit Out and Refurbishment

Client Brief

Design and Refurbishment of the Town hall in Maidstone, to enable a modern workspace and helpdesk for Involve (Kent) to run the local Volunteer Centre enabling people to engage more with their community. Our client required open office space where volunteers could easily come and work and also hold confidential interviews and meetings within a private area – provided by the install of a glass pod, but remaining visual to the public, and a Wi-Fi area.

Project Summary

Our expert design team created 3D visuals space with the idea of not only making the Town Hall a modern business hub for voluntary services but also a motivational workspace for the team of Involve. 2D CAD space plans, Fabric samples, Mood Boards and 3D Visualisation concepts enable insight into a refurbishment project before any actual work begins.

Our furniture department built and designed a reception desk, with complimentary desk and storage solutions alongside a glass pod.

A design feature of the flooring was to work with a wood plank pathway and blue Desso carpet tiles, complete with redecorations in a light grey and new LED lighting consisting of cube blocks and wall mounted uplighters.

Working within the branding colours of Maidstone Borough Council (Blue and Orange) and Involve (Blue and Red) we selected the colour that represented both businesses and incorporated it within the flooring, furniture and co-ordinating decorations.

With Rap interiors’ creativity and experience the Town Hall has been transformed from a tired info hub into a modernised workspace.
If your business workspace needs the “wow” factor – we would love to hear from you and create the rehearsal before any office refurbishment or office fit out.

“Maidstone and Malling Volunteer Centre has been based in the Town Hall Foyer for over 3 years. Before we arrived the foyer was used as visitor’s information and the room set up hadn’t really changed since then.We needed to refurbish, as the foyer was beginning to look a bit haggard but above all was not a suitable working environment for both those working there.Voluntary Action Maidstone (who run the Volunteer Centre) chose to work with Rap Interiors as they produced the best solution to having a space which would serve as a professional office space that was also welcoming to the public. From the conception to the completion of the project Rap interiors were consummately professional: Immediate rectifying any mistakes that occurred. All staff were friendly and approachable. Throughout the project they gave us enough creative control whilst also offering their valued professional opinion. The result of this is a clean, professional and functional office and public space. The outcome is, on a personal note, a revelation. In a clean, distraction free office space I find it much easier to focus and get more done. Thank you!”
