The School Reception Desk

A key feature of this area is the reception desk and its location. While it needs great storage, a desk should not be an eye-sore and so can be designed as a visual feature too.

A reception desk space should be designed around the user, the receptionist, so they feel comfortable while working and safe when dealing with the public. Things like integrated cable management and computer privacy screens are a couple of design features that could be introduced.

This reception desk is a feature within the school entrance with a high gloss finish, in white to match the colour of the walls and was designed with LED lighting.

Your School's Branding

It’s important that parents, students, staff and visitors are aware of your schools’ branding and can easily identify them as they visit. This can be done by incorporating the school colours into the reception area and continued throughout the building so it’s cohesive and impactful.

A school reception area is used constantly throughout a school day and even after hours so a flexible design is very important to cater for all it’s uses.

Having the right amount of lighting and in the right places is an important factor for the receptionist’s who’s workspace it is and also for those passing through.

Soft seating is a comfortable solution for waiting areas for parents and visitors with the option for bespoke furniture to make the best of the space available.
