Start Your Spring Clean Early

The wintertime is tough for employees. With dark mornings and challenging weather, it makes the daily commute that little bit harder. That’s why they will thank you for starting your spring clean early! Here are some ideas:

• Seasonal Plants – Once you’ve taken down the Christmas tree, consider introducing some spring-themed plants. If you’re passionate about biophilia, you can do this on a rotation basis to match the changing seasons.
• Office Planters – It’s always nice to see the first flowers of spring beginning to bloom. You can recreate this in your office by bringing in office planters, like the ones shown above at GW Highways. Note how they can double up as department ‘bookends’ when integrated with a storage system. Vestey Holdings achieved a very similar impact with planters in their London office refurbishment.
• Go for a Scandi Spring Clean – The Scandinavian theme is perfect for an uplifting New Year London office refurbishment. With focus on natural materials and clean lines, it promotes a serene, orderly office that signifies a fresh start. What’s more, you can achieve this without spending a fortune!

If you do carry out a spring clean, your employees will undoubtedly react positively. A bright, tidy environment can really set a great tone for the New Year and give people a morale boost.

Use Pantone’s Colour of the Year – Cloud Dancer

Pantone’s colour of the year for 2026, Cloud Dancer, is perfect for an uplifting workplace refurbishment. To quote Pantone Vice President Laurie Pressman, Cloud Dancer brings “a feeling of airy lightness” to environments and encourages “true relaxation and quiet focus for those seeking moments of disconnection.”

Creating spaces for quiet focus is becoming a priority for companies, so Cloud Dancer could be the perfect addition to a deep work zone or meeting room. Fittingly, it could also work with a Scandinavian theme, given that it displays a state of simplification that builds an atmosphere of “serenity and spaciousness.”

However you choose to use Cloud Dancer, it’s undoubtedly a great choice for an office refresh in 2026.

Rearrange Your Layout (or Redefine Your Zones)

In addition to aesthetic changes, reconfiguring your office layout can help give your team a lift. Think of it as a bit of office Feng Shui: the ancient Chinese art of spatial arrangement.

The aim of Feng Shui is to foster positive changes by adjusting living and working environments. This can support wellbeing, energy and success.

• The Collaboration Hub – The collaboration hub is where planned and spontaneous huddles take place. This could include portable whiteboards and rearrangeable modular furniture.
• The Social Exchange – While some places are for work, others are for socialising. The ‘exchange’ will be a high traffic area like a breakout zone or dedicated community space where people can chat and without disrupting deep work.

• Commercial Peg Boards – One of our favourite manufacturers, Innerspace Cheshire, created a timber pegboard that offers an array of storage and display capabilities. This is ideal for keeping the office tidy of pinning up important notices.
• Bespoke Storage and Display Units – For the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, we installed a bespoke storage unit for storage and display purposes. With its slanted edge, the new addition is great for displaying marketing material and brochures.
• Digital Booking Systems – It’s annoying when you need a meeting room only to find someone else is using it! With a digital booking system, you can connect it to an app for scheduling so employees can avoid double booking.

Make Some Fresh Office Furniture Additions

As the image above suggests, there are infinite possibilities when it comes to office furniture!

If you’re looking for some furniture that can make a positive impact to your business in 2026 consider these options:

• Create an Alternative Workspace with High-Back Chairs – For our Corporate Insurance client in Kings Hill, we optimised a pocket of space with elegant high-back chairs as part of an office fit out. This created a quiet zone where employees can work with a laptop or carry out short Zoom calls.

• Create a Wellbeing Zone with Standing Desks – One easy way to promote good wellbeing is to introduce height-adjustable desks. Over at Crowe UK, we created a dedicated wellbeing zone with electronic desks and accompanying treadmills so people can walk and work!

Alternatively, you could go for a piece of statement furniture, like some of the examples above. Many of these images are from our recent trips to Clerkenwell Design Week, highlighting the incredible choice on offer to furniture enthusiasts.

Get Creative with Acoustic Dividers

So simple, yet so effective. Acoustic dividers are ideal for defining departments and creating new zones, all the while reducing unwanted noise pollution.

For example, the acoustic dividers we installed at Crowe UK divided up the banks of desks into individual departments. Following on from our earlier point, this approach can help to redefine the office layout if certain departments need to be closer together.

Additionally, acoustic dividers can give the office space an aesthetic lift. We particularly like the hanging acoustic leaves example, which will be a fitting addition for an early spring office refurbishment!

Feature Walls

Have you got an office full of white walls? We’re all for the minimalist look, but a splash of colour in the form of a feature wall can add some visual interest to your space.

Ideally, this should be something related to your company. Here are some ideas:

• Photographic Prints – The Simpsons Wine Estate wall print is a great example of a company-themed mural. As the name suggests, the company produces wine, so the image of grapes was perfect for its mezzanine meeting room.
• Wall Quotes and Slogans – What’s your company’s philosophy? This could be just the thing to inspire your feature wall as in the example at Access Insurance in Croydon.
• Timelines – Has your company reached a significant milestone at the turn of this year? If so, you could highlight your achievements with a timeline feature wall, like the one we installed at Wire Belt. This will make employees old and new feel part of the journey.

Brighten Up Your Reception / Lobby Area

What does your reception area say about your company? As it’s the first thing people see, it’s important that it sets the rights tone!

There are many things you can do to give your reception area a lift in 2026, including the following:

• Illuminated Elements – Illuminated signage is a surefire to give the reception area a lift. It’s warming and welcoming, marking the start of someone’s journey into the office. We also added a bespoke illumination effect to Ward Security’s reception desk, creating the illusions it is levitating.
• Glass Lobby Partitions – A glass partition can help to create a walkway, as was the case for Morgan Cargo. As it’s made of glass, it maintains the building’s depth while allowing natural light to flow throughout. Note how Morgan Cargo’s includes branded manifestation too.
• Moss Walls – Is your company passionate about sustainability? If so, a moss reception wall is just the thing to underline your commitment to climate change. Check out the vibrant design at Chartway, which includes an integrated company logo.

First impressions are very important, so refurbishing your reception in 2026 is a great idea. When it comes to leaving a lasting impression on visitors, however, that one’s down to you!
